Today I came across these amazing pictures shot by photographer Jerome Shaw on Elle.com featuring "Digital Influencers Recreating Legendary Images of Black History Icons" This Shoot was put together by The Style Influencers Group.
The #WeAreBlackHistory series was photographed and edited by Jerome A. Shaw (@PhotosbyRome) with hair by Seto McCoy (@SetoMcCoy), nails by Gracie J of The Editorial Nail (@TheEditorialNail), and makeup by Denise Laidley and Kalifa Gordon of Kayden Makeup Artistry (@KaydenMakeup).
“The #WeAreBlackHistory movement was created to honor our history and foster a sense of unity among powerful black women voices in the digital space,” says co-founder Lexi Felder. “Each influencer has a personal connection to the legend they’re paying tribute to. They were selected because they’re making a tangible impact and shaping our history with their words, actions, and images,” says co-founder Christina Brown. “In no way are we claiming to be the next iteration of these icons. We’re simply paying homage to them for the way they’ve inspired us in our careers and beyond,” says co-founder Jessica C. Andrews. (Source: www.StryleInfluencersgroup.com)
